Hatchling turtle 🐢 rescued from attack

It isn't every day you get to see a newborn turtle emerge from the nesting ground where its mother laid her eggs weeks before.

The majority of baby turtles don't make it through their first days, and this little one was already under pressure, before its eyes could open and it could take its first step on the sand.

One bajan angler witnessed a hatchling who was about to become the next meal of a voracious sand crab, and decided to lend a hand and rescue the tiny turtle who was disoriented and desperately trying to free himself from the claws of its attacker.

As the helping hand approached, the crab released its grip and slowly backed away.
